Bird released after recovery

Despite having suffered severe trauma, a secretary bird was successfully rehabilitated at CROW(Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife) in yellowood Park recently.

The bird, a Sagittarius serpentarius, was reportedly found by conservation officers from the Ladysmith District.

Elderly man killed in accident

A Pedestrain believed to be in his early 50'5 died while crossing the busy N2 freeway near the M7 off ramp on Friday morning.

According to ER24 media Liaison Derrick Banks, when paramedics arrived at the scene, the found the man lying in the centre median of the freeway.

Ritesh had practiced so hard that when the time came to deliver it he did it flawlessly.

The first time Ritesh Deshmukh read the dialogue he was thoroughly confused so in order to memorize it he recorded it on his dictaphone and kept listening to it over and over again.

Overcoming mountains

South Africa's top mountain biker, Kevin Evans and his powerhouse Austrian partner, Alban Lakata, showed the rest of the field a clean pair of cleats over three gruelling days of racing in the recent Subaru sani2c race which finished up in Scottburgh.

The Sabura Sani2c is believed tto be the largest stage race in the world. Evans and Lakata did not win the final stage however, they had commanding overall lead from the first two days.

Indian Singer, Shruti Pathak, will be joining Sonu Nigaam, when he embarks on his South African tour on March 26. The dynamic duo will perform at the ICC Arena.

Pathak got her big break when she sang 'Leke Pehla Pehla Pyar' in the remix album, 'Baby Doll'. The raven haired beauty has also sung for TV serials like Ambe-Dhara and Annu ki ho gayi Wah bahi Wah for Raju Singh as well as a few regional films.

Community concerned over refuse collection point

The area outside the Merebank Secondary School has become a collection point for refuse from the Merebank shopping centre. This is a cause for concern to community members.

Principal of Merebank Secondary, Mr A Dhantrakash, expressed his concerns stating that the designated refuse collection point was where learners were dropped off and picked up.

Bollywood actress Preity Zinta pulled off a stunt by jumping off the wall of a toilet at the Delhi airport after she got stuck inside for more than 10 minutes. "Spent 10 minutes stuck in the toilet at the airport...Finally had to climb the wall and jump over... People were calling out my name," Preity posted on her Twitter page Tuesday.

The 34-year-old says she felt she would die in there, but managed to escape.

It was an emotional day for stuff and volunteers of CROW(Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife) on Thursday, when two rescued grey duikers, Bella and Eddie, were released back into the wild at Tala, a 3000 hectare Game Reserve in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu- Natal.

CROW is a wildlife hospital situated in Yellowwood Park, that cares for the injured and orphaned wild animals and birds the mothers were killed.

Four school childern struck by minibus

A woman and four school children were seriously injured when they were struck by a minibus taxi on the Adams Mission Road, South of Durban on Monday morning.

According yo parameters, it is illegal that the four had been waiting on the curb for a lift when the taxi driver lost control of the vehicle, causing to veer off the road and mount the pavement.

Producer raises funds for underprivileged
