Music festival celebrates human rights

Members of the Durban south community are in for a musical treat this Human Rights Day.

In celebration of the day, a fundraising music festival is being hosted by Eagle Records and Thumpers MC at the Bluff showgrounds, situated on Tara Road, on 21 March from noon to midnight.

South Durban residents take a stand against oil gaint

This week residents of the south Durban region staged a protest to show their solidarity with their fellow human beings of Nigeria who they believe have suffered at the hands of oil giant, Shell.

The residents were joined by the South Durban Community Environmental Alliance,
groundwork and Centre for Civil Society from the University of KwaZulu Natal.

They staged the protest in solidarity with the plaintiffs in the case against Shell, in which the oil company is alleged to have committed human rights violations in the rich country of Nigeria.
