Isipingo buzzing with development

The Isipingo area has been buzzing with activity recently with various developments taking place.

According to ward 90 elected councillor Freddie Maistry, several initiatives are currently taking place in and around Lotus Park. On orient Drive the vacant land and embankment adjacent to the river is being leveled out

Dont be duped by politicians

Despite the many challenges faced by the residents of Malakazi, people continue to live in squalor hoping that the municipalities’ rural development plan will provide suitable housing for the community.

Councillor Kalicharan of the Minority Front said: "Malakazi needs high profile attention.

What is hindering progress is that many of these properties are privately owned, this makes it extremely difficult for the municipality to expedite the housing development.

What also makes it difficult is that most of the owners are not living on the primary property which is now taken over by informal dwelling because of the demand for housing.
