Celebrating Family Day

National Family Day took place on 5 April and in celebration, the Merebank Kids Can hosted a fun filled event for families in the local community.

The initiative allowed families the opportunity to spend time together and with other families in the community.

Bird released after recovery

Despite having suffered severe trauma, a secretary bird was successfully rehabilitated at CROW(Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife) in yellowood Park recently.

The bird, a Sagittarius serpentarius, was reportedly found by conservation officers from the Ladysmith District.

Elderly man killed in accident

A Pedestrain believed to be in his early 50'5 died while crossing the busy N2 freeway near the M7 off ramp on Friday morning.

According to ER24 media Liaison Derrick Banks, when paramedics arrived at the scene, the found the man lying in the centre median of the freeway.

Tongue twisting ritesh

In the last shot of Sajid Nadiadwala and Sajid Khan’s ‘Housefull’ you will see Ritesh Deshmukh deliver a complicated line in a single shot with much ease and even greater comic timing. The line that reads ‘Teri Biwi Teri Biwi Meri Behen…Teri Hone Walle Biwi Meri Behen…Har Aurat Teri Biwi Meri Behen…How can your luck be bad. Ritesh had practiced so hard that when the time came to deliver it he did it flawlessly.

The first time Ritesh Deshmukh read the dialogue he was thoroughly confused so in order to memorize it he recorded it on his dictaphone and kept listening to it over and over again.

Hrithik Roshan slaps the hot Barbara Mori!

Kites couple Hrithik Roshan and Barabra Mori are in news once again thanks to the smack on the latter's cheek. No, don't get us wrong, Hrithik didn't misbehave with the latin beauty but it was all a part of a scene.

Talking to a news daily about the Hrithik-Barbara chemistry, Anurag recalled a humorous event, We were doing an intense scene which had a long dialogue. Towards the end, Barbara was supposed to slap Hrithik. We okayed the scene.

Overcoming mountains

South Africa's top mountain biker, Kevin Evans and his powerhouse Austrian partner, Alban Lakata, showed the rest of the field a clean pair of cleats over three gruelling days of racing in the recent Subaru sani2c race which finished up in Scottburgh.

The Sabura Sani2c is believed tto be the largest stage race in the world. Evans and Lakata did not win the final stage however, they had commanding overall lead from the first two days.

Music festival celebrates human rights

Members of the Durban south community are in for a musical treat this Human Rights Day.

In celebration of the day, a fundraising music festival is being hosted by Eagle Records and Thumpers MC at the Bluff showgrounds, situated on Tara Road, on 21 March from noon to midnight.
